Simon works closely with clients to help them achieve a commercial resolution to any given dispute. Having spent time on various secondments, Simon appreciates both the demands on in-house counsel and the importance of providing clients with commercial, succinct and practical advice.
He specialises in financial services disputes, with particular experience of acting for firms in the pensions and life industry. He regularly defends IFAs, appointed representatives and their principal firms in complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and in court proceedings including on behalf of insurers.
Simon's wider experience includes advising clients on complex contractual disputes, carrying out corporate investigations, and acting for clients in relation to multi-million pound frauds instigated against them, with various successes in obtaining injunctive relief and recovering clients' assets.
He has also acted as a supervising solicitor in the implementation of a search and seizure order, and the conduct of the subsequent disclosure of documents.
Simon has a wide experience of ADR, especially mediation.
