Sherry Goodman-Smith

Sherry is based in our London office and acts on behalf of Insurers and Reinsurers in relation to complex policy coverage disputes across a number of business lines, including public & product liability, general liability (including pollution and employer’s liability), and product recall.

The vast majority of Sherry’s work is international, and she regularly deals with issues arising under both domestic and multi-jurisdictional umbrella / global programmes. Sherry has experience of dealing with proceedings, arbitrations and mediations following catastrophic third party losses in the US, Israel, South Africa and numerous European jurisdictions.

Relevant experience includes:

• Advising Excess Insurers in relation to coverage issues arising from the sale and supply of GMO corn in China.
• Representing Insurers following significant property damage resulting from a fire within an aerospace manufacturing plant.
• Representing Insurers on liability and recall issues in light of defective windscreen panels being installed by an automobile manufacturer.
• Advising Insurers on complex casualty claims following a tram incident in Manchester.
• Advising on Master/Local Policy issues arising from a manufacturer’s global distribution of defective water hygiene products.
