Sally is an associate in the Manchester Professional Indemnity and Commercial Risk team. She specialises in subrogated recoveries and defence of property damage claims, construction and building claims and policy coverage disputes.
Sally's focus is on high value and complex property damage claims. Her experience includes acting for and co-ordinating a claim for 18 insurers in a subrogated recovery following a large warehouse fire in Leyland. DAC Beachcroft acted under an innovative costs sharing agreement meaning the costs - including extensive expert evidence - were spread between insurers making the recovery action economical for the individual insurers to pursue.
Other notable matters include a recovery following a gas explosion causing damage to 200 houses, defending a contractor following a fire in a prestigious development in Belgravia, and defending a claim against meat traders for alleged supply of contaminated product.
Sally deals with cases efficiently and proactively to agree with clients the best commercial and strategic approach. She is acutely aware of the necessity to monitor costs and merits as cases progress, and explores settlement opportunities through without prejudice meetings and more formal mediations.
Sally joined Sally joined Davies Arnold Cooper in 2000 as a trainee solicitor, qualified in 2002 and has been an associate since 2008. She joined DAC Beachcroft upon the merger in 2011.
