Richard is a real estate disputes resolution solicitor in our Bristol office. He has many years' experience of dealing with a range of contentious real estate disputes, as well as providing strategic and day-to-day advice on a wide range of issues.
His experience includes:
Acting for and advising major shopping centre owners in strategic advice to allow key development at the centre to proceed;
Acting for national retailers in supporting their estates team to manage the estate to the best advantage of the underlying business;
Acting for a major NHS Foundation Trust to defend a dilapidations claim by a former landlord, which resulted in a pay-out of one tenth of the original claim;
Acting on Rights to Light case to obtain substantial compensation for infringement of light due to development of an adjoining site.
He provides advice on such areas as 1954 Act lease renewals, tenant default, dilapidations, breach of lease covenants, service charge disputes, repudiation of leases, service of break notices, and advice on assignment and sub-letting disputes.
Richard has particular expertise in dealing with property related insolvency issues, including tenant administration and CVA's.
Richard has been awarded Higher Rights of Audience in the Civil Courts. He regularly presents seminars on a range of real estate based topics, and delivers training to clients and agents.
