Richard Cross is a real estate lawyer in our Bristol office. He works on a wide range of commercial property transactions and is known in particular for being an experienced lease negotiator.
Richard specialises in shopping centre leasing and asset management work and the acquisition, development and disposal of office, retail and warehouse sites. Richard acts as quasi-client partner and lead transactional lawyer for a number of the firm's prominent developer and investment clients.
He has worked on a number of high value developments over the years and has valuable knowledge of both the local (South West/South Wales) and national markets. He often handles complex negotiations of sale/purchase, option and development agreements, as well as agreements for lease on pre-lets. This is both for sole clients and for clients acting together in joint venture.
Richard's recent experience includes:
Leading DAC Beachcroft's team on the leasing by a prominent shopping centre client of the UK's largest shopping centre that opened in 2015;
Acting for the landlord on a number of high profile leases within a high end luxury shopping centre in London;
Acting for a well known investor/developer client on a complex £26 million sale of a strategic defence site in South Wales.
Richard qualified in 1995 and joined DAC Beachcroft in 2001, being promoted to Associate Solicitor in May 2002.
