Michael joined the firm from the legal department of a large insurance company where he was Head of Property.
He has dealt extensively with the acquisition and disposal of investment properties, asset management and the acquisition and disposal of occupational properties.
Michael has strong transactional skills and is used to giving strategic and tactical advice, and to acting as lead negotiator.
His experience includes:
Investment sales and purchases including a portfolio of 15 properties for £60 million, sale of a shopping centre for £36 million, office development for £41 million, and acquiring 4 retail properties for £40 million including 1 forward purchase;
Substantial experience in development work including a forward purchase for £18 million, a rail linked distribution warehouse, a retail park and many others;
Advising NWDA on major regeneration projects;
Acting for a local authority on development of an autopark with a ground lease to the developer that paid a base rent and income rent to the authority, and which had complex provisions giving the authority the ability to increase its share of the income rent by increasing its investment in the development;
Heading all asset management work for a £2.4 billion property portfolio;
Letting an office development for an aggregate rent of £2.5 million per year;
Acting for a local authority on a retail development and dealing with asset management work for a government department.
