Jorge Salgado-GonzálezLLM ACIArb qualified as an English solicitor in 2009 and as a Mexican abogado in 2000. He has had experience advising the London Insurance Market for ten years, specialising in (re)insurance claims and policy coverage, particularly concerning property and energy risks and financial lines.
Jorge has vast experience concerning insurance regulations and disputes in Mexico and the Latin American (LatAm) region and has experience with financial services regulation/investigations and multi-jurisdictional litigations, mediations and arbitrations. Jorge is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Jorge is also familiar with the Miami insurance market having been based there in 2011-2012 working with North American reinsurers.
With an LLM in International Commerce and additional UK postgraduate studies in corporate and banking law, Jorge has also had experience assisting investors with interests in Mexico, and prior to joining DAC Beachcroft in January 2015, worked with a global American law firm in its London office assisting in multi-million banking (real estate) transactions, private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions.
Jorge has participated in the representation of major (re)insurance clients in international litigations and alternative dispute resolution methods. This has included reported English Commercial Court cases arising from hurricane losses in Mexico and Thailand (AXA Seguros S.A. de C.V. v Allianz Insurance PLC and others  EWHC 268 (Comm) and Tokio Marine Europe Insurance Ltd v Novae Corporate Underwriting Ltd  EWHC 3362 (Comm)).
Before relocating to London in 2004 Jorge was retained as a legal advisor for international affairs to the Mexican Government in matters concerning the United Nations system, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the North American Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and worked in-house for an aviation contractor of oil major Petróleos Mexicanos/Pemex.
