His experience includes advising developers, institutional and private funds, local authorities, property companies and major occupiers on the acquisition, funding, development, letting, management and disposal of city centre office developments, shopping centres, retail parks, leisure schemes, distribution warehouses and mixed use portfolios.
His expertise covers all stages of the development process, from site assembly to the ultimate sale of the let scheme and includes negotiating development and forward funding agreements, deeds of release and grant, options and rights of pre-emption, pre-let agreements, and overage deeds.
Recent transactions include:
Purchase of a retail park in Huddersfield, for £43.8m including subsequent lettings and advice on proposals for extension of the park;
Purchase and forward funding of a leisure park in Doncaster including the extension of a Vue Cinema and construction of two new restaurant units;
Purchase of a shopping centre in Stockton-on-Tees, comprising over 40 shop units and an Asda supermarket and on-going letting and management work, including advice on the enforceability of various landlord's non-competition covenants;
Purchase of the site of a major 60 storey office and retail development in the City of London, including site assembly, securing the release of third party rights (including rights of light, restrictive covenants and adverse rights constraining development), and negotiating office and retail pre-lets;
Purchase and forward funding of a six unit development in Coventry, comprising both pre-let and speculative elements, with a gross development value of £25m, and including pre-emption rights for future expansion of the scheme.
