James Tallant

James specialises in Defendant Casualty, Industrial Disease and Motor claims. He is Head of Claims Handling in the Claims Solutions Group.

He has over 15 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including insurance litigation. His key clients include major composite insurers, brokers and corporate companies.

James is responsible for the management of the Claims Handling teams and is viewed as a technical expert and a leader in the disease field as one of the 'go to' individuals in the market. He specialises in Defending claims for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, Work Related Upper Limb Disorders, Asbestos Related Conditions and Occupational Asthma and is a specialist on Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims.

Relevant experience includes:

• James led his teams as the top forming law firm in 2015, 2016 and 2017 on a major disease outsource project involving over 30,000 disease cases. His teams have consistently been number one position for a key insurer client through top key performance indicators across a national defendant solicitor panel.
• Representing a major insurer providing advice and commercial guidance for a technical project with a large claimant firm. James also guided and advised an entire legacy claims market on future claims handling.
• James leads the firm’s Claims Handling team nationally within the Claims Solutions Group who provide bespoke claims handling service, supported by a highly experienced and successful team. His teams are experts in handling volume industrial disease, Employers Liability, Public Liability and Motor outsource claims for major insurers and corporates.
