Fran Marsden

Fran specialises in all aspects of tree and vegetation related matters; including subsidence recovery and liability claims and Japanese Knotweed liability claims for insurer clients and the public sector.

She has over 15 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including the insurance and public sector. Her key clients include Axa Insurance, Aviva Insurance , Allianz Insurance, Fairmead Insurance (formerly Legal & General) and Admiral Insurance.

Fran manages the Subsidence team at DAC Beachcroft, which is the only focussed legal subsidence specific claim within the industry and has significant experience and expertise. The team has 4 sub-products; subsidence recovery claims, subsidence liability claims, mitigation claims and strategic advice. They can provide clients with support and advice in all areas of subsidence, Japanese Knotweed and Ash Dieback whether that’s facing a claim or pursuing a claim and foreseeability data to assist underwriters writing subsidence risks.

Relevant experience includes:

• Creating and taking to market the Fixed Fee Mitigation Service.
• Making a net indemnity saving of £13.5million in a calendar year for a major insurer client.
• Advising and training clients on a number of recovery and liability issues.

Fran is also a member of the Subsidence Forum.
