Elizabeth Anderson has 8 years defendant clinical negligence experience. During this time she has represented a number of healthcare providers (both NHS and private) and medical insurance organisations in complex and high value cases (in excess of £5m).
Elizabeth also has experience of health advisory and regulatory work, including inquest preparation and advocacy at preliminary hearings and GMC representation.
Recently, Elizabeth has secured a successful defence at Trial of a GP involving allegations of negligent hip examination of an 8 month old baby who was later diagnosed with CHD (March 2011).
Elizabeth was responsible for the day-to-day conduct of a GMC case involving a one-off mistake by an established and senior clinician. Following an unfavourable ruling at the GMC, success followed at the Court of Appeal and a GMC re-hearing was ordered, which took place in the latter part of 2009 (2006-2009).
She had responsibility for the day-to-day conduct of a multi-million pound brain injury case representing the private healthcare provider. This resulted in a successful defence during a 12 day Trial at the Royal Courts of Justice followed by further success at the Court of Appeal (2006-2009).
