Adolfo is a consultant at DAC Beachcroft. His role includes advising clients on global D&O and broader insurance issues, and delivering training on international comparative law.
He is a recognised expert in insurance, company, and banking law. Originally from Venezuela, he regularly advises on insurance regulation and claims relating to Latin America.
A recognised authority on D&O insurance, Adolfo has written and delivered papers in the UK and USA on the subject. He was awarded the British Insurance Law Association’s prize for his book, Directors and Officers Liability Insurance, in 2009. He has also written book chapters and given guest lectures on such topics as bankers’ duty of care, non-executive directors in financial institutions, auditors and corporate fraud and insurance fraud.
Adolfo combines his consultancy role at DAC Beachcroft with his position as senior lecturer in company and banking law at the University of Buckingham. Prior to the University of Buckingham, he held a senior academic post at Middlesex University and also taught at The University of Southampton, which followed over ten years at the Universidad Catolica del Tachira in San Cristobal, Venezuela, where he became Assistant Professor in Commercial Legal Practice and Assistant Professor in Company Law.
Adolfo also holds a practising certificate in Venezuelan Law, and is the Vice Chairman of the Civil Liability Working Party in the International Insurance Law Association AIDA.
