David Harrison is an experienced EU/competition lawyer in our London Fetter Lane office, and has been in private practice since 2002.
Before that he worked on a variety of EU economic, financial and policy questions, including postings to the UK Permanent Representation in Brussels and the British Embassy in Paris. He was also policy speechwriter to the Foreign Secretary.
David specialises in competition law as it applies in regulated sectors, and has experience of litigation in the European courts.
He has published widely on competition law and related subjects, including the two books Competition Law and Financial Services (Routledge, 2014) (endorsed as "outstanding" by Senior Legal Counsel of the European Central Bank) and The Organisation of Europe (Routledge, 1995) (reviewed as "excellent" in Cambridge Journals European Review).
He contributed the chapter on competition law in the Research Handbook on Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Alternative Investments (Edward Elgar, 2012), and also recent articles on law, finance and economics published by Practical Law Competition, the Law and Financial Markets Review, the Regulatory Policy Institute and Central Banking Journal.
