Anthony specialises in corporate law. He also advises on commercial matters, including intellectual property.

He has over 40 years’ experience advising clients across a range of sectors including real estate and the hospitality sectors.

Anthony in particular advises on the acquisition and sale of corporate entities which own commercial and residential properties. He also advises on issues relating to the financial aspects of football player transfers.

Relevant experience includes advising:

• Sellers and buyers on the sale and purchase of commercial buildings in the City of London.
• Financial institutions on the financial aspects of several transfer of players to and from various clubs around the world.
• On the restructuring of a restaurant group and a private equity investment into the group.
• On a private equity investment into a university spin out tech company.
• Shareholders on unfair prejudice claims and implementing the resolution to the disputes.

At the start of his career, Anthony specialised in commercial real estate work together with commercial and insolvency litigation. Reported cases in which he was involved in include:

• National Carriers Ltd v Panalpina (Northern) Limited 1980 (HL) - Frustration of leases.
• British Airways PLC v Customs & Excise Commissioners 1990 (CA) - VAT and composite supplies.
• Infolink Limited v Data Protection Registrar 1991 (Data Protection Tribunal) - Fair processing by a credit reference agency under the Data Protection Act 1984.
• Lladro Commercial 2003 Resale price maintenance investigation by the OFT.
