Andrew has been working for corporate insureds, insurers and companies direct on employers’ liability, disease and health and safety issues in excess of 20 years.
This work has included health and safety prosecutions both in the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court, including defending corporate manslaughter charges, and dealing with appeals from improvement and prohibition notices. He has also handled environmental prosecutions including oil leakage into nearby waterways and pollution claims.
Andrew has experience dealing with claims from other regulatory authorities (Food Standards Agency, Trading Standards, Local Authorities) and therefore liaises with all of those regulatory authorities and, when necessary, attending the Coroner's Inquests.
He is well used to advising both companies and individual directors on defending these claims, on the disclosure requirements and representation at the PACE interview. In addition, he advises on insurance coverage issues and product liability issues.
He is a member of the British Insurance Law Association and the Forum of Insurance Lawyers, and is a regular speaker at health and safety and liability seminars.
