International law firm DAC Beachcroft has announced the appointment of Lois Duguid as Head of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance issues).
The appointment follows the launch of DACB’s ESG strategy in 2022, which outlines a series of commitments focused around themes that have been identified as key priorities by the firm’s clients and colleagues, including climate change, talent & leadership, wellbeing, and diversity, equity & inclusion.
DACB is already delivering on its ESG strategy, for example through the commitments made within its recently published Carbon Reduction Plan, and a new partnership with the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, which has been formed as part of the firm’s commitment to providing Pro Bono legal support. DACB’s insurance team has also recently launched 150 predictions on ESG themes on its Informed Insurance microsite to support clients in achieving their own ESG ambitions.
With over 20 years’ experience, Lois joined DACB as Head of Responsible Business in 2018 with a focus on developing the firm’s CSR strategy, and her role is now evolving to cover ESG more broadly.
Virginia Clegg, DACB’s Senior Partner, commented, “ESG is a strategic priority for our firm and for our clients. The complex and developing ESG landscape holds opportunities, exposures, risks and responsibilities. We are focused on supporting our clients’ ESG journeys and implementing our ESG strategy to build resilience now and in the future.”
Lois added, “I’m delighted to lead on the realisation of DACB’s ESG strategy. ESG is about working in synergy with our clients and our colleagues, suppliers, and communities. This collective way of working is how we create lasting, positive change.”
