International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Hayes, a leading financial services regulation lawyer whose main areas of focus are investigations and enforcement defence.  With more than 20 years’ experience in the field, Angela joins from TLT, where she was also a partner.

Before joining TLT, Angela spent 12 years as a partner in the London offices of leading US law firms Mayer Brown and King & Spalding.  She has led major regulatory investigation and defence projects, coordinating cross-border multi-jurisdictional matters, involving the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Serious Fraud Office (SFO), US Department of Justice, US Securities and Exchange Commission, New York State Department of Financial Services and other regulators in Europe and around the globe.

Angela's clients include banks, brokers, insurers, investment funds, asset managers and senior individuals within regulated institutions.  She has particular expertise regarding market abuse and regulatory issues impacting the asset management sector.

Partner Khurram Shamsee, Head of Financial Services, said, “Enhancing our reputation in the market as one of the go-to firms for banks, assets managers and other clients in the FS sector is a priority for us.  Angela’s experience and client base will help us further expand our regulatory practice and the work of Jonathan Brogden and others in FS investigations and enforcement, as well as leveraging our existing strength in acting for asset and wealth managers.”

Tim Ryan, Head of DACB’s national Commercial and Regulatory group, added, “We’re delighted to welcome a specialist of Angela’s quality and experience to the firm and this hire serves to underline our ambitions and growth in the area.”

Angela Hayes said, “DAC Beachcroft’s FS offering is well regarded in the market and the wider firm’s consistent performance in the last few years makes us well-placed to build on what has already been achieved.

“I’m very pleased to be joining DACB and look forward to playing a part in the next chapter of growth for the team.”

DAC Beachcroft works closely with many leading investment and retail banks, asset and wealth managers and networks of financial advisers and mortgage intermediaries to provide regulatory, corporate and commercial advice, as well as strategic guidance on future developments and contentious regulatory support.  The firm also advises a wide range of public and private businesses whose activities bring them into contact with financial services, particularly when offering credit or insurance products and including fintech solutions.
