International law firm DAC Beachcroft is delighted to announce that Emma Fuller, its National Head of Vehicle Hire & Damage, was last night named Insurance Lawyer of the Year at the prestigious Women in Insurance Awards.
Emma has led DACB’s highly acclaimed national Vehicle Hire & Damage team for eight years. Acting for over 40 insurers and self-insureds and saving them in excess of £20 million every year on vehicle hire spend, she and her team have most recently been supporting clients through the whiplash reform programme.
“I am both honoured and humbled to have received this award,” Emma said. “I am privileged to lead a phenomenal team whose hard work and commitment enables us to go on achieving exceptional results for our clients. The team’s support and achievements are recognised in this award.”
In May 2021, Emma was appointed Location Head of DACB’s Newport office. There, she has been guiding the office’s 130 colleagues as they transition to a new way of working through the firm’s Flex Forward approach, which gives colleagues greater choice about when, how and where they work.
She is also passionate about mentoring, coaching and advocating for women, both colleagues and clients, to succeed in insurance. She actively promotes the firm’s ‘returners’ programme for female colleagues returning from maternity leave and leads its Womens+ group to help develop diversity.
“Working in a sector that is dominated by men can be challenging for women entering the insurance industry,” Emma commented. “I was fortunate to have strong and inspirational women role models at DACB, including our Senior Partner, Virginia Clegg and our Head of Insurance, Helen Faulkner.”
Craig Dickson, CEO of DACB’s Claims Solutions Group, added, “Emma joined us as a paralegal, was the youngest female partner the firm had ever appointed, and today leads our Newport office and our top-rated Vehicle Hire & Damage team. Her leadership skills and exceptional achievements are acknowledged by clients and colleagues alike and have now been recognised by this award.”
