Leading international law firm DAC Beachcroft is delighted to announce it has gained a coveted place on the list of the ‘Top 30 Employers for Working Families’.
The list, which is announced annually by the charity Working Families, is based on an assessment of the UK’s top family-friendly employers against a benchmark which scores organisations on their flexible and family-friendly policies and practices.
The rigorous benchmarking process reviews the policies firms have in place to support mothers, fathers, and carers, and assesses the way in which they are integrated into organisational strategy and culture.
DAC Beachcroft has implemented a number of initiatives to support colleagues with families over the last year as part of its Responsible Business strategy, which is focused on supporting the realisation of the firm’s vision of being a place where talented people want to work.
These initiatives include the publication of a flexible and agile working policy to enable colleagues to work around personal commitments and the launch of a Return to Work Programme to support colleagues returning from periods of family leave.
The firm has also enhanced its shared parental leave policy (SHPL) to support men to share caring responsibilities and to help promote the policy hosted a series of Working Dads round table events across the firm’s UK offices, which were attended by DAC Beachcroft’s Managing Partner, David Pollitt. The uptake of SHPL by DACB fathers has more than trebled as a consequence of these events.
David Pollitt says, “This recognition from Working Families is a fantastic testament to our firm’s commitment to providing a working environment that encourages our people to thrive in an inclusive culture."
“During the recent pandemic it has become even more important to support working parents who are balancing family and work responsibilities. By listening to our colleagues to understand better any unintended barriers that exist and through our colleague networks, we continue to work hard to ensure our teams at all levels better reflect our clients and the communities in which we live and work.”
Working Families is the UK’s work-life balance charity helping working parents and carers—and their employers—find a better balance between responsibilities at home and in the workplace.
