DAC Beachcroft’s Real Estate and Construction practices in its Newcastle office have taken the Property Law Firm of the Year prize at the North East Property Awards, organised by Insider Media.
The organisers noted that the team has had a strong year, growing its client list, increasing both staff numbers and turnover, and working on a number of significant deals and developments. These included the disposal of the former Sanderson Hospital site in Gosforth for residential development by Lok Developments; advising Newcastle City Council on the redevelopment of the key site at Bank House to deliver Grade A office accommodation and retail units; and the acquisition and development of a flagship new national office headquarters for Bellway at Newcastle International Airport Business Park.
The North East Property Awards judges said: “This is a growing law firm, both in terms of its property team but also its client list. We were impressed with its commitment to training, as well as the scale of the high profile nature of the instructions the firm took during the qualifying period.”
Real Estate partner Nicola Fairbairn said, “This is a credit to the team, and a reflection of the commitment and application shown over the last year. Newcastle and the wider North East offers DAC Beachcroft significant potential for growth, which our team has capitalised on by offering a great service and leveraging experience across healthcare, local authorities and private housing as well as the broader real estate and construction markets.”
DAC Beachcroft’s Newcastle office is home to 170 of its colleagues, of which 22 – including two partners - are focused on Real Estate and Construction work.
