International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce that it has been awarded two top prizes in the ‘Excellence in Business Development’ and ‘Excellence in Technology & Innovation’ categories at the Law Society’s Excellence Awards - the highest accolade for law firms in England and Wales.
The ‘Excellence in Business Development’ award recognises three tools which were developed by DAC Beachcroft’s Cyber & Data Risk team. Breach Response Planner enable clients to identify internal and external incident response teams, establish response protocols and build a comprehensive breach response plan. Helpline is a 24/7 incident response hotline which provides a single point of contact for firms undergoing a cyber-breach. Finally, Situation Room is a secure, virtual crisis room that enables businesses that have suffered a cyber-attack or a data breach to communicate and share information confidentially.
This is the third award win for the team in recent weeks, having already won the Business Development Innovation Award at the 2020 Legal Innovation Awards and Cyber Law Firm of the Year at the Insurance Insider Cyber Rankings Awards.
Hans Allnutt, Head of Cyber & Data Risk at DAC Beachcroft, said, “Our market leading cyber team has worked incredibly hard to develop a platform that adds real value to our clients and I am delighted that their efforts are being recognised across the industry.”
The ‘Excellence in Technology & Innovation’ award is in recognition of BAIL, an online artificial intelligence-powered (AI) tool which helps the firm’s insurer clients to quickly, accurately and consistently resolve liability in motor accidents. The tool was developed by InsurTech, Automated Insurance Solutions in conjunction with the firm’s claims research and development hub, Innovations Lab.
Peter Allchorne, Insurance Partner and Head of DAC Beachcroft's Innovations Lab, commented, “This accolade is testament to DAC Beachcroft’s ongoing commitment to working with start-ups in developing new and disruptive technologies that deliver improved efficiencies for clients.”
The Law Society’s Excellence Award ceremony – held virtually for the first time due to the Covid-19 pandemic – shines a spotlight on the achievements of solicitors in England and Wales. Professionals and their firms are recognised across a range of categories covering all areas of legal practice and business.
Law Society of England and Wales president, Simon Davis, said, “2020 has been an extremely challenging year for the profession and the public. Solicitors have gone above and beyond in order to keep individual and business clients out of trouble, often at risk to their own mental, physical and financial health.
“At the Law Society Excellence Awards, we come together to celebrate outstanding success. There are more than 9,000 firms and 190,000 solicitors in England and Wales, so to win an Excellence Award is an extraordinary achievement. Congratulations to all the winners and those shortlisted.”
