DAC Beachcroft’s Technology Law team is helping innovative technology companies provide support to different groups of people during the COVID-19 crisis.
An existing client which provides digital services to members of clinical teams, providing innovative ways of discussing the progress of patients remotely and providing more rapid and integrated diagnosis and treatment, recently turned to our team about a critical software agreement. The team was delighted to be able to support and close this project rapidly, particularly in the current environment.
Another example is April, which provides tech support to older and vulnerable people, enabling them to receive support in understanding and using various consumer technology whilst isolated during the pandemic. Their CEO decided that this support should be provided free of charge throughout the COVID-19 crisis. The Technology Law team worked with April to provide the appropriate commercial contract, technology and wider advice to enable this.
Tim Ryan, who leads our national Technology team and is Client Relationship Partner for both clients, said, “It is very satisfying both to be able to work with these growth tech businesses and ensure that the service they offer is accessible to groups in need as quickly as possible. That companies like this come to us as their first option is testament to the strength of our reputation in Healthtech.”
