Liz Jones has been elected unopposed as Location Head of DAC Beachcroft’s Birmingham office in Tricorn House. She will begin her term on 1 May 2020, replacing Paul Leighton, who steps down after two terms and six years’ leadership of the office.
Liz, who joined the firm’s Birmingham office as a paralegal in 1998, is a partner in DAC Beachcroft’s Complex Claims Team; on behalf of insurers, she handles high value and catastrophic personal injury claims arising from motor, employer and public liability matters.
With 20 partners and nearly 400 colleagues, DAC Beachcroft’s Birmingham office is one of the largest in its global network of 11 UK and seven international locations. Colleagues in the office are in DAC Beachcroft’s Claims Solutions Group, the firm’s full-service claims solutions provider, which acts for 18 of the UK’s top 20 insurers.
Commenting on her election, Liz said, “Having spent my entire career as a lawyer at DAC Beachcroft in Birmingham, I am inordinately proud and privileged to head up an office with such huge potential.
“We work with the UK’s top insurers, we have some great people working here, and Birmingham is a city with a deep pool of talent. In my tenure as Location Head, I want to build on what we have; I will encourage involvement with our diversity and inclusion groups, develop our corporate and social responsibility programme, and ensure that our people continue to be put at the heart of everything we do.”
DAC Beachcroft’s Senior Partner Virginia Clegg added, “Congratulations to Liz. Our Birmingham colleagues will reap the benefits of being led by someone who knows them, their office and their city so well. I look forward to working more with Liz to continue building our presence in Birmingham.”
