DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce that it has launched an online portal to help FCA solo-regulated firms to implement and comply with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
SMCR will apply to FCA solo-regulated firms from 9 December 2019. It will make senior managers personally accountable, require firms to ensure key members of staff are fit and proper, and extend conduct rules to almost everyone who works at regulated firms.
DAC Beachcroft’s SMCR portal for FCA solo-regulated firms has been developed by its specialist team of regulatory and employment lawyers and governance experts.
The portal contains a comprehensive set of advice notes, training materials and template documents, which draw on the lessons that the firm has learned over several years of advising banks and insurers on SMCR.
The portal is available on a subscription basis or as part of an SMCR instruction.
Head of the SMCR Practice, David Sims, said, “SMCR represents a sea-change in the way the FCA regulates financial services firms and the people who run them, and it is crucial that firms prepare for it accordingly. Our SMCR portal will help our solo-regulated clients to do that in a practical and cost-effective way.”
DAC Beachcroft has a cross-practice SMCR team of employment, regulatory, governance and data protection experts, led by employment partner, David Sims, and regulatory partner, Mathew Rutter.
