DAC Beachcroft has been recognised for its commitment to promoting access to the legal profession at the CILEx National Awards.
CILEX - the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives – is the professional association for 20,000 Chartered Legal Executive legal practitioners in England and Wales. The organisation provides alternative routes to qualification as a lawyer.
DAC Beachcroft is the largest employer of CILEx members.
The 'Promoting Access to the Profession' award category recognises organisations that have demonstrated innovative and diverse recruitment practices that actively seek to break down barriers to the legal profession, including encouraging interest in professional legal careers from wider socio-economic backgrounds.
Janette Wallace, Practice & HR Director, comments: "This great award win recognises the excellent work of the business in delivering tangible improvements in Diversity and Inclusion, which is an important part of being a responsible business. We strive to offer equality of access and opportunity based on merit and potential, irrespective of difference or background. Winning the CILEx award reflects the firm's commitment to providing career paths and development opportunities to create an environment where all colleagues can fulfil their potential."
DAC Beachcroft colleagues Simon Thompson and Judith Gordon-Nichols were also shortlisted for awards: Simon for the National CILEx 'Legal Expert' award and Judith for the 'Advancing the Legal Profession' award.
