DAC Beachcroft's Claims Validation Team (CVT) was named Fraud Investigation Team of the Year at last night's Post Insurance Fraud Awards, the insurance industry's most prestigious fraud awards ceremony.
Catherine Burt, National Head of Fraud at DAC Beachcroft, said: "This is a fantastic achievement and I'm so proud of the team.
"In previous years, we have submitted really strong entries, and just being shortlisted for one of these coveted awards is seen as a major achievement in the industry."
DAC Beachcroft's submission focused on its work in providing the intelligence and evidence to support business insurance specialist QBE's fraud team in managing the largest fraudulent bus claim that QBE has ever experienced. The claim involved 37 bus passengers and four car passengers and resulted in the conviction of those who organised the fraud. DAC Beachcroft's team undertook detailed telephone analysis and evidential work to support QBE's investigations and legal work and the police's criminal investigation of these serious fraudsters. Kate Abrahams, DAC Beachcroft's Head of Intelligence, commented: 'We have incredibly skilful Intelligence professionals who have worked for over four years to build a reputation that is second to none in the industry. Finally getting acknowledgement of this from our peers is a major feat and just rewards for the team."
