DAC Beachcroft Seals New Alliance in Spain

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has agreed an exclusive strategic alliance with Madrid-based practice Muñoz Arribas Abogados as part of the development of its business in the insurance and health sectors in Spain and Latin America.
Muñoz Arribas is a family-owned law firm, which specialises in handling insurance claims, and acts for a number of insurers that are also clients of DAC Beachcroft.
Under the new arrangement, both firms will benefit from complementary practice areas, with Muñoz Arribas focussing mainly on professional liability, D&O, Financial Lines and medical malpractice claims. These will supplement the Industrial Risks, Energy, Construction and International Personal Injury teams at DAC Beachcroft in Madrid.
The two firms are already collaborating on the running of a medical malpractice account in Spain, whereby a joint solution is being provided to the clients, and a number of further clients are likely to benefit from a programme of joint working solutions in the coming months.
In the longer term, this innovative partnership aims to provide advanced products and solutions to shared insurance clients in several new markets and jurisdictions, especially in Latin America. The agreement may also provide opportunities for secondment of staff.
Gustavo Blanco, International Development Director at DAC Beachcroft Madrid, said: "This alliance with a well-respected, admired law firm with an impeccable track record spanning decades, such as Muñoz Arribas, demonstrates our commitment to the Spanish market. It also reinforces our unparalleled presence in the Spanish insurance market and our excellent day-to-day relationship with clients."
José Antonio Muñoz, Director of Muñoz Arribas, added: "The alliance is an excellent opportunity for us to develop our business through DAC Beachcroft's international network and its presence in Latin America."
David Pollitt, Head of Insurance at DAC Beachcroft, explained: "We have known Muñoz Arribas for a long time and are well aware that the firm has an excellent reputation in the Madrid market."
"We both respect the strength and reputation of each other's business. However, it is what we can do together that is a really exciting prospect, providing our insurance clients with a full, end-to-end claims solution both in Spain and across Latin America".
