International law firm DAC Beachroft has appointed Jonathan Deverill as a partner in its London Corporate practice. Jonathan, who trained at Slaughter and May, joins the firm on 1 April from DMH Stallard.
Described in The Legal 500 as “solutions-oriented”, Jonathan's practice covers a broad range of corporate and commercial work, including equity capital markets (advising issuers and nomads), M&A, takeovers, securities and joint ventures.
With significant experience of cross-border transactional work and especially strong connections in the Canadian market, he has a focus on energy and natural resources, as well as having recently advised clients on deals in the financial services, real estate and healthcare sectors. Jonathan is also a former member of the Legal Committee of the Quoted Companies Alliance (QCA).
Commenting on the appointment, DAC Beachcroft London Corporate Partner, Nick Gibbon, said: "We are delighted to welcome a lawyer of Jonathan's calibre to the fold. His experience is a very good fit with our existing Equity Capital Markets team, which continues to go from strength to strength under Clive Garston's leadership.
"Jonathan's arrival will be a significant boost for us in that important area and an ideal stepping stone as our business continues to expand."
Jonathan Deverill said: "Having sat opposite DAC Beachcroft corporate lawyers on four deals in the last twelve months or so, I’m really looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues. There are some clear synergies between my client base and the work the team is doing and it’s great to have an opportunity to help drive the business forward."
