International law firm DAC Beachcroft has advised Metnor Construction Limited on the design and build of a major new Hampton by Hilton hotel in the centre of Newcastle. The project will see the conversion and redevelopment of an existing eight-storey office and retail space on Neville Street into a 160-bedroom luxury hotel for the global hospitality company.
The deal marks DAC Beachcroft's most significant instruction to date for Metnor Construction, the lead contractor at the site, which is at the heart of a programme of major redevelopment in Newcastle.
Construction Partners Warren Kemp and James Harrison led the team for DAC Beachcroft. Commenting on the deal, James Harrison said: "This is a highly significant deal for the ongoing reinvestment and reinvigoration of Newcastle city centre and we were delighted to be appointed to work alongside Metnor once again. Our work on this complex transaction further underlines the high calibre of DAC Beachcroft's national construction team, which continues to go from strength to strength."
Metnor Construction's Commercial Director, Chris Cant, said: "We were pleased to work with DAC Beachcroft, which provided excellent value for money and a 'can-do' attitude throughout."
He added: "Warren, James and their excellent team were responsive, meticulous and user-friendly and made it easy for us to navigate through what was a more complicated contractual structure thanks to their clear, consistent and pragmatic advice."
