DAC Beachcroft’s Singapore insurance team, led by Partners Steven Dewhurst and Ben Nicholson, has been promoted to Band 1 for insurance by Chambers and Partners in its recently announced Asia Pacific rankings.
Chambers acknowledges the team's wide range of contentious and non-contentious advice to insurer and reinsurer clients across Asia, as well as its takaful and retakaful Islamic specialisms.
Competitors have described DAC Beachcroft’s Singapore team as "one of [their] biggest competitors in the region."
Partner Steven Dewhurst is listed, once again, as a leading individual in his field (Band 2). Clients identify him as a "leading D&O practitioner in this area" and as one of the relatively small number of lawyers who advise on both claims and non-contentious commercial insurance issues.
Meanwhile, partner Ben Nicholson is promoted in the leading individuals' table to Band 2. Clients recommend him for "his very good knowledge of the property market, especially on business interruption issues." His expertise also covers professional liability insurance, energy insurance and cross-border claims.
