We work closely with many leading investment and retail banks, as well as their insurers, to provide a full range of legal services from policy wordings through to claims strategy.

We are also experts in advising financial advisers, trustees, pensions administrators and trustees, hedge funds, private equity and venture capital firms and their insurers in defending a wide variety of claims, providing them with advice on coverage, and also on strategic issues and on the mitigation of future risks. Our profile in this area is demonstrated by the fact that we act for some of the largest national networks of financial advisers, mortgage and insurance intermediaries, sole practitioner IFAs, private banking arms of retail banks, wealth management business of investment banks, and leading life companies.

The scope of our expertise also extends to dealing with cash-in-transit, commercial crime, cyber-crime, bankers banker bond and fidelity risks.

We have a strong track record of dealing with some of the largest FI claims in the market.

Our team has extensive experience of defending all of the major issues experienced by the financial services industry over recent times. This includes the pensions review, serps, endowment mis-selling, PPI, Lehmans, Madoff, Stanford, unregulated collective investment schemes, hedge funds, offshore trusts, and more recently tax avoidance schemes.

We advise insurers on all of the related coverage issue under the Civil Liability section. Currently, we are advising on issues such as whether a policy responds to a consumer redress scheme in the absence of a formal claim being made or threatened against the insured, and the breadth of the mitigation costs provision, which might be triggered to cover the redress payments in full, even in circumstances where insurers' prior consent has not been provided.

We are experienced in dealing with the whole spectrum of regulation including liaising with the financial Ombudsmen Services, HMRC, SFO, the FSCS and other entities. Our global team can also advise on matters involving international regulators, such as the SEC. Our lawyers are also able to give advice on all aspects of the FCS investigation process, including advice on FSMA.

We operate with dedicated, partner-led teams from London, Dublin, New Zealand, Madrid, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Singapore, providing comprehensive legal services to international clients and the London market. We have an association with Phoenix Law in India and strong associations with firms in Brazil, Canada, Australia and Malaysia. We also have a representative office in New York.
