Technology will create opportunities for new players and shift established business models. It will re-shape the manufacturing process, in some cases boosting trade, in others reducing it. Transport, warehousing and delivery of goods will all be affected, as will land values. The location of some warehousing will change, for example, if drone delivery reduces the need for easy access to road networks. Size and design will be affected with increased use of robots. Future proofing and flexibility to accommodate evolving technology will be key to maximising investment in the sector.
