The legal and ethical framework affecting Caldicott Guardians is rapidly evolving and increasingly complex. In particular, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will take direct effect in the UK on 25 May 2018 and will be the most comprehensive overhaul of data protection law in this generation. The new regime for handling personal data has particular challenges for Caldicott Guardians with increased rights for individuals and enhanced fines for non-compliance.
We are offering a 1-day session which provides an update as to the legal, ethical and practical frameworks affecting Caldicott Guardians – including a detailed explanation as to what Caldicott Guardians must know about the impact of the GDPR. This session costs £350.00 + VAT and will take place on the following dates:
Alternatively, we would recommend considering a bespoke training course which can be provided in-house (or at one of our offices) to a group size of your choosing and tailored to your organisation's needs, policies and procedures. This has the advantage of ensuring the wider team who support the Caldicott Guardian understand the legal and governance framework and associated responsibilities. It can also incorporate organisation specific issues and problem areas. This option offers cost effective training by comparison with individual attendance. Depending on requirements, half day courses for groups are available from £950 + VAT.
