Hong Kong: Guidance issued on the use of drones
Published 29 March 2015
The Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner has published guidance on the use of unmanned aircrafts or ‘drones’ (the Guidance) supplementing its previous guidance on the use of CCTV. The Guidance comes at a time when the commercial applications for drones are becoming more apparent and wide ranging.
A press release from the Privacy Commissioner is available here.
The copy of the Guidance is available here.
What action could be taken to manage risks that may arise from this development?
Companies with a presence in Hong Kong should consider the guidance if using or considering using drones.
