Published 15 April 2015
Direct Assist Ltd
On 1 April 2015 the ICO issued a monetary penalty notice of £80,000 upon Direct Assist Ltd for marketing calls to individuals without consent in breach of PECR. At this point in April, the ICO still had to prove "substantial damage and substantial distress". The monetary penalty notice makes interesting reading due to its necessity to list examples of this distress caused to individual complainants.
