France CNIL annual activity report 2014 published
Published 16 April 2015
The French Data Protection Authority (the CNIL) published on 16 April 2015 its Annual Activity Report (the Report) which sets out its key accomplishments in 2014 and its main objectives for 2015. The Report also presents the results of the “cookie sweep” reported in an earlier alerter.
The Report confirms that the CNIL’s focus on enforcement activities will be continuing into 2015. Its priorities are to:
- Adopt a policy of openness and consultation towards stakeholders;
- Raise the level of awareness among data controllers (particularly companies) and to help them develop tools that allow them to implement the data protection principles;
- Increase the level of compliance through a more targeted and efficient enforcement policy.
