Business cyber security guide by the International Chamber of Commerce
Published 23 April 2015
A cyber security guide aimed at both small and large sized businesses has been developed by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
The guide, which is free and downloadable, gives details on how businesses can develop better ways to both pinpoint and handle IT security risks. There are four main parts to the guide, these cover:
- Key principles to implement when facing some of the most common IT security incidents;
- Key actions to carry out to promote effective IT security;
- Key ways to encourage practical and effective implementation of IT security measures;
- A questionnaire which acts as an assessment tool determining the current effectiveness of a business's IT systems and management.
The guide is available here.
What action could be taken to manage risks that may arise from this development?
Companies should ask their security departments to review the guide. The assessment tool could be a valuable aide in evaluating the effectiveness of systems presently in place.
