Last week saw the announcement in the Queen's Speech of new legislative measures to help defend claims arising out of socially desirable activities. It was followed on Saturday by Justice Secretary Chris Grayling's promise of further legislation to benefit insurers and their policyholders, through clamping down on fraudulent claims and inducements to claim. All these measures will require primary legislation, but will they provide real benefit in bringing down premiums?
