Is a College responsible for risky Student Union games?

Andrew Risk suffered spinal injuries, causing tetraplegia, when he dived head-first into an inflatable pool in a Student Union event. However, unlike Robert Uren (Insurance Adviser Alert 19 March 2013), Risk's claim for damages failed, despite the striking similarities between both events and the level of injury and also despite the recent judgment of the Supreme Court in Woodland (Insurance Adviser Alert 29 October 2013).
