DAC Beachcroft Commercial Employment Newsletter - December 2014
Published 17 December 2014
We have heard this morning that Unison's challenge to the legitimacy of tribunal fees has failed, but they have been given leave to appeal. We will send a further alert out once we have analysed the decision.
This month's newsletter covers a case that looks at when the right to suitable alternative employment applies to a woman who is on maternity leave. This case makes it even more important that employers do not forget about its employees who are off on maternity leave when they are considering redundancies. We also cover a case, in which we acted, where it was found no reasonable adjustments could be made in the workplace to overcome the disadvantage suffered by an employee who had near-fatal reactions to the spraying of aerosols and perfume.
We wish all our readers a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year.
