Who are we?

8 DAC Beachcroft Buildings (8DB) is our dedicated in-house barrister and advocacy service, enabling us to offer clients a complete solution for litigation and dispute resolution. Our resident team deliver the expertise and services of an external chambers, with the advantage of a streamlined in-house function working directly with our solicitors. Supporting greater collaboration between solicitors and counsel, this dedicated advocacy and advisory service disrupts the traditional model to deliver a more cost-effective and tailored solution for clients.

With the full suite of litigation and dispute resolution services in one place, we can deliver a more cohesive service for clients while also providing indemnity savings across every stage of the claims process.

The 8DB team comprises experienced and specialised barristers, ranging from four to fourteen years’ call, in addition to specially trained advocates who are adept at undertaking county court work. Able to anticipate client needs and respond to industry-wide changes, 8DB can support in cases of all types and degrees of complexity.

8DB’s services include:

• A full clerking team to manage instructions and ensure appropriate expertise;
• Advisory work (prospects, quantum / reserve and tactics);
• Drafting (statements of case, applications, witness statements, Part 35 questions);
• Representation (interlocutory hearings, case management hearings, conferences);
• Trials and Tribunals (from small claims to high court litigation, cost assessments);
• Appellate work (before circuit judges and in the Court of Appeal);
• ADR (mediation, negotiation, and arbitration).
