Michael Peeters

Michael is a Partner with over 20 years experience of a wide variety of technology law areas including information technology and telecoms deals, outsourcing projects and computer and internet law. Much of his experience is international.

He has worked with a wide range of both suppliers and users of information and communications technologies (ICT):

• on the supplier side his clients have covered a wide spectrum from major systems integrators and leading BPO suppliers to niche software houses;
• on the customer side clients he has supported have ranged from central government departments and NHS Trusts to financial services and international businesses.

He sits on the Board of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) and regularly speaks at international conferences on leading edge subjects in the area.

His focus on Outsourcing and ICT Projects is reflected in his position of Co-Chair of the Outsourcing Committee of ITechLaw. He regularly works on deals with an international dimension, often with similar experts from around the world.

He also advises on wider computer and internet law and is listed in the top 40 e-commerce and internet lawyers in the UK in the International Who's Who of Internet and E-commerce lawyers, which is an independently researched publication. He believes in managing legal risk without compromising the need for clarity and easy to follow documentation.

Based in Leeds, he heads up the Northern Technology Law team.

Michael is a recognised figure in the technology law arena with top listings in the legal directories for at least the last 10 years. For example, Michael is described as "A leading light…" by Chambers & Partners.
