Malcolm Austwick

Malcolm is a commercial lawyer advising on major capital projects and procurements. Examples of major projects that he has led on are:

• Baglan Hospital - the largest health PFI in Wales where he acted for the Kier/Tilbury Douglas/Charterhouse consortium
• Dudley Hospital - where we acted for the NHS Trust on what was seen at the time as the yardstick project for the NHS Standard Form Contract
• Defence Sixth Form College - where we acted for the Interserve/HSBC/TQ consortium
• Addenbrookes Hospital - where we acted for the NHS Trust on the first PFI scheme to be closed by a Foundation Hospital
• Armada - where we acted for the Interserve/Innisfree consortium on an accommodation project for the MoD at Devonport
• Corsham - an MoD project where we acted for an Interserve/John Laing consortium on a project to provide new single living accommodation, offices and a communications centre for the MoD.

Malcolm acts for clients in both the public and private sectors and is involved in numerous developments in the rapidly evolving health market such as:

• working on new partnerships and joint venture schemes
• advising on alternatives to PFI
• acting on variations to existing PFIs.
