George Alford FCISA,FIPD,MSI,BSc(Econ) Advisor to Health Practice
George Alford has been Chair of the Foundation Trust Financing Facility the independent advisor to the Department of Health on term lending to Foundation Trusts since 2004. During this period FTFF has approved over £500m to twenty foundation trusts. He is Chair of the Advisory Board of London Metropolitan Business School where he is also a Visiting Professor.
He is a non executive director of Investec PLC and Investec Ltd za where he sits on the audit committee and chairs the remuneration committee.
Previously he spent seven years as a senior advisor (grey panther) to the Bank of England/ Financial Services Authority following 27 years at Kleinwort Benson. For several years he facilitated the annual strategic review of the National Association of Pension Funds. Since joining the DAC Beachcroft Health team George has provided specific strategic advice and mentoring to directors in Foundation Trusts, NHS Trusts, and Primary Care Trusts including a provider arm.
He is participating in the Advisory Group for the Department of Health funded evaluation of Community Foundation Trust pilots to be carried out by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine. He is also a member of both Firmley Park and Basingstoke and North Hampshire Foundation Trusts'
