International law firm, DAC Beachcroft continues to grow its operations in Newport with plans to make the city a motor claims ‘centre of excellence’ in the insurance sector due to a 40% increase in cases.
The news comes following the merger in October of Beachcroft LLP and Davies Arnold Cooper LLP which was originally founded in Newport.
Tony Cherry, regional senior partner at the Newport office said: “We have increased the number of cases dealt with by our Newport office by 40% mainly through referrals from across the firm making use of the specialist skills we have based there. It therefore makes perfect sense to continue to grow our insurance client base and make our Newport offering a ‘centre of excellence’ in motor claims, providing insurers and corporates with a cost-effective end-to-end service.”
The firm originally entered the Welsh legal market when Beachcroft acquired personal injury specialist, Kings Legal in 2009. Since then, the team has grown by nearly a quarter with 124 people now working at Newport in its claims management division. This figure rises again to nearly 150 when staff working for its third-party paperless working partner are also factored in.
“We have always been a strong advocate of supporting our local communities and as a result of the increased work from our claims departments across the whole firm; our paperless working partner has nearly tripled the size of its operation in the city,” continued Cherry.
“We believe in fostering young talent and continue to be a strong supporter of Newport’s young people with around 90% of our workforce under 30 years of age.”
