Senior Partner, Simon Hodson, and Managing Partner, Paul Murray, have won the Management Partner of the Year prize at the Legal Business Awards.
The accolade comes less than four months after the pair were instrumental in overseeing a merger between Beachcroft and Davies Arnold Cooper to create top 20 law firm DAC Beachcroft LLP.
While the decision to recognise a management team for this award is unusual, Legal Business commented: "Hodson and Murray have been a true double act since becoming senior and managing partner of Beachcroft in 2005. During that time, the pair have helped the firm grow revenues by 46%, have been re-elected to serve another five-year term and have led the insurance giant into a game-changing merger with Davies Arnold Cooper."
Commenting on the achievement, Simon Hodson said: "Paul and I are delighted by this award but feel we should share it with both [legacy DAC senior partner] Danny Gowan and [legacy DAC managing partner] Lucy Walsh, who were instrumental in the firm's recent achievements. We are all proud of how far the firm has come and thank our partners and staff for their support, resilience and good humour in times of change."
Other nominees shortlisted for this award were: Peter Hasson of Clyde & Co; Andrew Manning of Bevan Brittan; Peter Martyr of Norton Rose; Craig Holt of QualitySolicitors and Philip Rodney of Burness. The DAC Beachcroft Insurance Team, led by partner David Pollitt, was also shortlisted for an award. The Legal Business Awards, held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel last week, is an annual event to recognise excellence in the legal sector.
