Lawyers at the Bristol office of DAC Beachcroft are celebrating after winning a hat trick of prestigious awards.
The leading commercial law firm was successful in all three of its nominated categories at this year’s Bristol Law Society Legal Awards dinner. The annual awards celebrate excellence in the legal profession and are presented to individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to their local community.
Leon Smith won the ‘Junior Lawyer of the Year Award’. This award is given to a junior lawyer who has shown exceptional dedication and endeavours to enter the profession and qualify as a solicitor, and who has made a significant contribution to their firm or the profession early on in their career. Leon was also singled out by the judges as a solicitor ‘who represents all the best traditions of the past, but with attributes for - and an eye on - the future.’
Judith Gordon-Nichols, a senior legal executive, was also recognised for her dedication and drive, winning the ‘ILEX Award’, which recognises an individual who has shown real commitment to their qualification as a legal executive over an extended period.
Completing the trio was Tony Cherry, regional senior partner and head of the firm’s industrial and manufacturing sector. Tony received the ‘Pro Bono Award’ for his continued passion and dedication to providing pro bono services.
Simon Hodson, senior partner at DAC Beachcroft, said: “We are absolutely delighted for Tony, Judith and Leon who richly deserve to be recognised for their passion and professionalism.
“Excellent service delivery is at the heart of the firm’s strategy and we pride ourselves on our continued ability to attract outstanding people.”
