Several members of our team worked within local authorities prior to joining the firm, providing us with an in-depth understanding of the needs and drivers of both the public and private sector.
Our dedicated team based in London, Manchester and Bristol advise on a complete range of planning, environmental, highways and local government law matters with a particular expertise in major residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
We are experts at guiding you through the increasingly complex, and often politically sensitive, planning issues on major residential and mixed-use developments, including those with environmental implications.
We advise at the outset on the assessment of potential sites and on their promotion through the development plan process, the preparation and submission of planning applications to the co-ordination and conduct of planning inquiries.
We also represent a wide range of clients on High Court challenges and judicial review proceedings in planning, environmental and public law issues.
We also have extensive practical expertise in respect of environmental and planning issues surrounding large and complex development projects, together with associated planning and infrastructure agreements, consents and licences.
The team is highly experienced in advising clients on the preparation of environmentally sensitive development projects, from old industrial sites to public land, where public inquiries, compulsory purchase and compensation claims are often involved.
We also advise insurance companies on risk and claims involving chemical spills, pollution, contaminated land and asbestos. We also act for owners and occupiers facing enforcement of planning controls by local authorities.
"We are impressed by the lawyers. They understand the relevant language and always deal with the key issues."Chambers UK 2012
