Employee relations

Trade union relations and other collective issues are critical to employers. Get it right and they can help to motivate and engage your workforce; get it wrong and they can bring your organisation to a halt. Our specialist Employee Relations Unit helps you make that relationship work at its best.

With budget cuts placing increased pressures on pay and conditions across the private and public sector, it's vital you maintain good employee relations to avoid costly and damaging legal challenges or collective action. Our Employee Relations Unit is at the very top of its game.

When collective workforce issues arise, our pragmatic advice puts you in control of your strategy, allowing you to act confidently and decisively from the outset. But first we listen. We get to understand your organisation's key goals, so we can put them at the centre of anything we do for you.

Expert, practical solutions

We deliver expert practical solutions to complex employment issues. If your organisation is facing change we can provide a step-by-step guide on how to minimise risk and proceed as smoothly as possible. We advise on the full range of employee relations, from negotiating collective agreements and advising on strike ballots, to representing employers at the High Court and Central Arbitration Committee (CAC).

We have a proven, trusted approach to employee relations. We have advised many household names. Our successes include having a TGWU strike over pension schemes called off, through the failure to comply with ballot notification procedures; advising an electronics company over the transfer of 50 AMICUS members and the termination of the collective agreement; and successfully representing clients at the CAC over de-recognition issues.
