We understand the construction business and have a detailed knowledge of domestic and international contract terms. From the outset, we establish our clients' real objectives, assess the prospects of success in a dispute and take a pragmatic approach to cost and risk.
Our clients include contractors, sub-contractors, developers, public and private sector property owners, consultants and insurers of construction, engineering and professional risks. Our health sector specialists advise a variety of NHS bodies, private health service contractors and developers.
Typical issues we have been involved in include claims for delay and disruption, extensions of time, loss and expense, and the cost of remedying defects. We also deal with disputes arising out of claims in relation to performance bonds, collateral warranties and design and build obligations, and all areas of dispute arising from PFI contracts.
Our construction disputes lawyers are experts in all forms of dispute resolution: litigation, adjudication, mediation, dispute boards, expert determination and domestic and international arbitration.
In particular, we have a successful track record in adjudications. We are able to draw on technical expertise within the group in engineering, quantity surveying, building and adjudication to prepare quickly the best case with our clients and we will use the rules to obtain maximum advantage.
Where required, we represent clients in disputes in the UK Technology and Construction Court and appellate courts.
Our construction team regularly produce know how documents that assist clients in understanding the procedures and issues involved when attempting to resolve construction disputes. Click here for a copy of our Adjudication Procedure Flowchart.
